Trading2day: Would you buy something that is getting scarce?

COCOA is something that will be featured many times in future posts. For now I just want to make an small introduction to my first post regarding this commodity.?

My long term view is extremely bullish for COCOA as long as prices stay above 2000$ per Metric Ton (MT). I target 3000$ for short to medium term. For the time being 2400$ is the first important support.

You could get an idea of what is going on in the cocoa market by checking the following links.

The trading stance that one should follow is definitely bullish. Any price pullback should be considered as a buy opportunity. However patience is needed as this move is still at its starting point and I prefer adding to my position as prices rise and break resistances or near suport levels. Always manage your risks and do not put all eggs in one basket.

Thank you for reading this post. If you want help with trading or have a question don't hesitate to contact me.

Clooney aids Obama campaign with Geneva fundraiser

GENEVA (AP) ? President Barack Obama supporter George Clooney raised almost $15 million for the re-election campaign at the actor's Los Angeles home in May. For his second act, Clooney is set to arrive Monday in Geneva, a center for international organizations and business.

Organizers expect to pull in a more modest amount of about $500,000 from U.S. donors for Obama's campaign, with many flying in to Geneva from around the world.

Americans Abroad for Obama, the event's sponsor, says on its Web site that guests are paying $15,000 per person to dine with Clooney, $5,000 for a photo with him and $1,000 to attend a reception before the dinner. About 30 people are attending the dinner, with about 100 at the reception.

The event is co-hosted by Geneva-based American lawyer Charles C. Adams Jr. and Matthew Barzun, Obama's campaign finance chairman.

Identity Theft Made Easier By Legal Loopholes | Stuff.co.nz

ANDREA VANCE AND JOHN HARTEVELT

Severe deficiencies in the law are giving criminals "a simple means for identity theft" by making it easy to change their names, an investigation has revealed.

Former ombudsman Mel Smith uncovered the loopholes while investigating how convicted paedophile Te Rito Henry Miki was able to teach at six schools.

Mr Smith has told the Government to take urgent action to tighten the rules.

As many as 133,000 New Zealanders are the victims of identity theft every year - which the Internal Affairs Department estimates is costing the country more than $200 million.

The inquiry into the employment of Miki found he was easily able to steal the identity of a registered teacher friend, who emigrated to Australia in 2009, and to adopt his teacher registration.

Miki - who accumulated 53 separate aliases - subsequently applied to the office of the registrar-general to change his friend's name to another identity.

Name change applicants only have to supply a statutory declaration, sworn before a court official, lawyer or justice of the peace - who needs only to ask if the contents are accurate. The applicant is not required to present verification of authentication or any other supporting documents to the registrar-general.

"The consequences of the process are plain to see," the report said. The system was "surprising and of very serious concern . . . it has consequences well beyond this case".

"The present process for effecting a change of name appears to lack any means for the registrar-general to confirm that the individual who is making an application for a name change is the same person whose birth registration is to be changed to a different name."

And, despite the bogus name change, the inquiry found the real person was able to travel on his passport under his name between Australia and New Zealand seven times.

The registrar-general is not required to inform the Passport Office, Customs or Immigration of a name change. If the relevant agencies had been notified, then when the friend first returned to New Zealand in September 2009 "the theft of identity would have become known and acted on at that time", the report said.

Miki was arrested in February and was jailed for about four years.

Mr Smith said an average of 7375 people changed their name every year.

"Most of those, I'm sure, would be for perfectly proper and lawful reasons but . . . unfortunately New Zealand society is not as honest as it used to be."

There was anecdotal evidence an official name change was available to people who wanted to get past the border "having legal obligations here, whether that's child support, unpaid fines or even something much more serious", he said.

Internal Affairs said it was already acting on the recommendations.

Hitler and the false lure of more is better

Nazi Germany's economy was not a central planning success, it was a disaster. Is there a lesson for today?

By Bill Bonner,?Guest blogger / August 25, 2012

A representation of Adolf Hitler lies in a box after police searched the house of an alleged neo-Nazi in Juelich, western Germany, on Thursday. Germany's Nazi economy holds some lessons for today.

Michael Klarmann/dapd/AP

Economists cannot know what is ?better.? They can only know what is ?more.? They have numbers. They can count. They can add up ?more?. As for ?better,? they have no idea. So, in their little minds, more is better.

That is the thinking that has driven the profession?and much of the world economy?to absurdity. Throughout the last 50 years, more looked so much like better, no one worried too much about the difference. More cars. More houses. More food. More gadgets. What was not to like?

But the cost was more debt. And by the 21st century the burden of debt had become so great that the system could no longer move forward. Here is how it worked, up until the early spring of 2007:

The Chinese, and others, made more stuff. The Arabs, and others, pumped more oil.

Americans, and others, created more credit and used the money to buy more stuff.

Rather than demand payment ? in gold ? for their excess dollars, as they would have before 1971, the exporters took the money and lent it back to the Americans. In this way, the US never really had to settle up. Approximately $8 trillion of purchasing power ? the accumulated trade deficits between 1970 and 2007 ? was created in this way. There is supposed to be ?no such thing as a free lunch? in economics. But for years Americans ate breakfast, lunch, and many of their dinners too at foreigners? expense.

Not needing to redeem the old credits, new ones were made available to Americans. Cheap credit drove up housing prices?and gave them the collateral to borrow more money and buy more stuff.

But when subprime mortgage market collapsed in ?07-?08, suddenly, US real estate prices stopped rising. This left millions of households in a bind. They could no longer borrow against rising house prices because housing was going down. They had to cut back on spending?which meant less stuff could be sold to them?and it left producers with bulging warehouses with unsold goods.

Economists looked at this situation, after the crash of subprime mortgages in ?07 and ?08, and came to the same conclusion they had on the occasion of every other slowdown over the previous 60 years. The economy needed more ?stimulus? to encourage consumers to buy more stuff. They did not notice that consumers already had too much stuff?and that they were now paying the price for buying more stuff than they could afford. Nor did they wonder whether consumers? lives might be better if they focused more on quality and less on quantity. ?More? is all they know; it is all they can do. So they called for ?more stimulus,? more debt, more credit, more spending, and more stuff.

But more is not always the right answer. There are times when less is better.

One of those times was in the mid-1930s?when Germany faced a critical decision. More? Or less?

Adam Tooze, a British historian, has written a marvelous book on the Nazi economy,?The Wages of Destruction. He shows that, far from illustrating the success of intelligent central planning, the German economy of the Third Reich was a disaster. The National Socialists ? or ?Nazis? ? had their plans for Germany. They were determined to put them into practice, regardless of what the Germans may have wanted for themselves. They fiddled with one sector after another. When one fix failed to produce the desired results, actually bringing unintended and undesired consequences, they tried to fix the fix with a new fix. Most of these fixes involved spending money ? if not on actual output, then on bureaucracies that regulated output. And most of them were directed towards a goal that only a demagogue politician or a lame economist would find attractive ? making Germany self-sufficient. Imports cost money, they reasoned. Besides, trade forced a nation to behave. Neither was attractive to the Nazis.

Like America in the 2000s, by the mid-1930s Germany had already spent too much money ? with the military as its biggest single expense. It faced enemies much more real and dangerous than America?s ?terrorist? adversaries. And under Adolph Hitler?s leadership it had decided to invest heavily in armaments. This created a sense of purpose for many people and a source of ?demand? that got people working again. Germany was still a relatively poor country, with a standard of living only about half the US equivalent. An autoworker in Munich, for example, could not expect anywhere near the same lifestyle as one in Detroit. Henry Ford paid his workers so well they were able to afford large houses with hot and cold running water and electricity. They could buy automobiles too?which gave a huge boost to America?s heavy industry. When war began, the US could fairly quickly convert its auto factories to production of jeeps, tanks and trucks. Germany could not.

In Germany, automobiles were still a luxury item. Few people owned them; certainly not the people who made them. Military orders made up for the lack of demand from the civilian population.

In this regard, many economists looked at Germany and labeled the rearmament program ? from an economic standpoint ? as a central planning success story. It ?put people back to work.? It ?got the economy moving again.? More stuff was being produced. ?More? worked! From all over Europe, people came to admire the revival in Germany. American Congressmen praised Hitler. So did many magazine editors and other leaders in France and Britain too.

Besides, compared to what was going on in Russia, Japan and Italy? Germany looked positively benign, if not a perfect role model. Stalin was purging or starving his enemies ? millions of them. Benito Mussolini had invaded Abyssinia and was busily massacring the locals. The Japanese were beginning their bloody war against the Chinese. Hitler may have sounded mad from time to time, and he may have murdered many of his rivals on the ?night of the long knives,? but now ? by 1935 ? he was beginning to sound reasonable, at least in comparison.

McCain: Further delays to GOP convention 'could be harmful'

By Michael O'Brien, NBC News

?

TAMPA, Fla. ? Arizona Sen. John McCain expressed concern Sunday that further weather-related cancellations of the Republican National Convention here could deprive the GOP of an opportunity to make its case to voters.

Speaking Sunday on ?Meet the Press,? the 2008 Republican presidential nominee said that the decision by convention organizers to effectively cancel Monday?s session due to the effects of the impending Hurricane Isaac wouldn?t have much harm on Republicans.

Jacquelyn Martin / AP

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz. attends a news conference about the Convention of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Thursday, July 12, 2012, on Capitol Hill.

?It's Wednesday, Thursday night that are the big moments,? he said. ?It's not that we don't want that first night, but I don't think it will be harmful if we lose the first night.?

But, the veteran senator added: ?It could be harmful if we lose more than that.?

Basic Things You Could Do To Improve Your House - Total Vibration

If you have a small, cramped kitchen make sure to choose light colored cabinetry. If you go with dark cabinetry, it will make your kitchen seem even smaller. Choosing a light color, can in fact enhance your sense of space and make your kitchen seem warmer.

Here?s a simple way of fixing gaps at the bottom of poorly fitted interior doors. Sandwich a section of timber (cut to the width of the door) between two pieces of paneling. Leave each piece of paneling sticking out beyond the upper side of the two by two by about one inch. Slip the extension over the bottom of the door and screw each piece of paneling into place against each side of the door.

Home improvement has become a popular pastime in recent years, and if a homeowner is somewhat handy he can increase the value of his home more than just a little. Home improvement stores are common and most offer instruction in nearly every area of home improvement. Almost anyone can paint a room or put down flooring with a little guidance, and even those changes can increase the homes value.

Replacing an old, worn doorknob is a great way to update the appearance of your home, and the safety level as well. This project won?t require more than an hour of your time. The most complicated tool you will have to use is a screwdriver. Replacement knobs can be found at your local hardware store.

If you have an attic you do not use, consider adding more rooms to your house or transforming it into a loft if the ceiling is rather low. This will definitely increase the value of your house besides giving you more space. Make sure you use proper isolation to avoid your new rooms from getting too cold or moist.

Be sure you have proper tools for the jobs you wish to do. It is fairly common to have a variety of household tools, but if you run out of painter?s tape, your living room may not come out as pristine as you hoped. Keep a stock on items you may need, and always pick up more when needed.

Give yourself adequate time to finish a home improvement project. Do not think you?ll get your bathroom completed in 2 days, or finish a kitchen in a week. Consider that things WILL go wrong which will lead to having to purchase more material, new tools, or possibly hiring someone to fix your mistakes.

If you are trying to remove wallpaper that has been painted over or has more than one layer, you may have to use a steamer. Using a steamer will assure you do not damage the walls while removing the wallpaper. You can usually rent a steamer or buy a do-it-yourself model.

When it comes to home improvement, be sure to have fun with it. This is important because it should be a rewarding experience for you. You will never fully enjoy your home improvement project if it was a burden and brings back bad memories. Consider hiring help if it is expected that you will run into issues completing the project on your own.

If your bedroom is looking a little old and worn out, you can put new curtains up to add a splash of color and to bring a touch of freshness into your bedroom. New curtains are a cheap way to bring your room back to life with color and life.

Not every home improvement project has to be a major overhaul or a major expense; there are a number of quick and easy updates you can make at a reasonable cost to add value and appeal to your home. Start with paint. Paint your walls, your cabinets, your trim or your doors. You can even paint your stove or floor tiles with specialty paint designed for that purpose. Increase storage space by installing closet or pantry organizers. Replace boring kitchen cabinet knobs with ones that are unique and decorative. While you?re at it, do the same with your plain white wall plates. Enhance your new paint job with fresh, bright curtains and sheers. Rent a floor buffer, and buff and wax your hardwood floors. A little cash and a dash of creativity can result in some dramatic changes.

You have to realize the there is a bigger market for more modern people. Even if you enjoy your old style ovens and refrigerators, you will have to modernize it. Try making everything a similar color like a stainless steel refrigerator and painting your walls a grey or white color.

When thinking about outdoor home improvements, you should take a look at your fence. Many tend to overlook this aspect of our property more often than not, but an addition of a high quality and great looking fence can go a long way towards increasing the value of your back yard and outdoor entertainment areas.

Although it is much less expensive to work on your home yourself, making mistakes or not having the motivation to complete a project can quickly add to the cost. It is important to think through what you want to accomplish; this article is meant to be a starting point for you as you begin to gather your thoughts about what you want to do.

Alzheimer's drug fails study but flashes potential

(AP) ? An Alzheimer's treatment from Eli Lilly and Co. failed to slow memory decline in two separate patient studies, but the drug did show some potential to help in mild cases of the mind-robbing condition that is notoriously difficult to treat.

The Indianapolis drugmaker's announcement could be a step toward a long-awaited breakthrough in the fight against the disease. But researchers not tied to the studies ? and Eli Lilly itself ? cautioned against overreacting to the initial results.

Lilly said Friday that its treatment, solanezumab, failed to slow the rate of cognitive decline, which involves a person's ability to remember things, in two late-stage studies of about 1,000 patients each. But when data from the trials were combined, scientists saw a statistically significant slowing of that rate in the bigger population.

They also saw a statistically significant result when they examined a subgroup of patients with mild cases of Alzheimer's disease. The studies focused on patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer's cases.

Lilly officials would not discuss details of the results and said that they plan to talk with regulators about the next steps for the drug, which has yet to receive Food and Drug Administration approval. Full results from the studies will be presented at two scientific conferences in October. It's unclear how the FDA will view the results, given that the drug missed its main goals.

William H Thies, chief medical and scientific officer for the Alzheimer's Association, which was not involved in Lilly's research, said the statistical significance of the combined results is important.

"If that can be replicated, that is a major finding," he said. "It's the first time we've been able to change the course of Alzheimer's disease or any part of Alzheimer's disease in people."

But because the drug missed its main goals, Thies said the drug "isn't going to the (FDA) tomorrow to be approved for sale."

If you look through "rose-colored glasses" at the results, there may be a sign of potential benefit on cognitive tests, said Dr. Ronald Petersen, director of the Mayo Clinic's Alzheimer's Disease Research Center. But it is not clear whether that is enough to make a real difference clinically in how patients do, he said.

The key will be details the company will present later on brain imaging and other tests, he said.

"The danger would be an over-interpretation of a small finding or a subtle effect," said Petersen, who heads a safety monitoring panel for two companies working on a different Alzheimer's treatment.

About 35 million people worldwide have dementia, a term for brain disorders that affect memory, judgment and other mental functions. Alzheimer's is the most common type. In the United States, more than 5 million people have Alzheimer's, which is the country's sixth-leading cause of death.

Many Alzheimer's patients typically live four to eight years after diagnosis, as the disease gradually erodes their memory and ability to think or perform simple tasks. Current Alzheimer's treatments only temporarily ease symptoms such as memory loss, confusion and agitation. They don't slow, stop or reverse mental decline.

Drugmakers have tried and failed for years to develop successful treatments for the disease, and patients and doctors are anxious for something that can slow the disease's progression. Analysts have said such a treatment, if approved, could be worth billions of dollars in sales.

Earlier this month, Pfizer Inc. and Johnson & Johnson said they would end development of an intravenous version of their potential Alzheimer's treatment, bapineuzumab, after two late-stage studies showed it worked no better than a placebo in patients with mild-to-moderate cases. The companies are still studying an injectable version of the drug.

Lilly's announcement Friday comes two years after the drugmaker stopped developing another potential treatment, semagacestat, after patients taking the drug wound up faring worse than those on a placebo.

Scientists say the search for a better Alzheimer's treatment presents several problems. To start, the brain is the most complex organ in the body and the one that researchers know the least about.

Biological triggers behind disease development remain largely unproven, although certain factors like age increase the risk of getting it. Scientists believe changes in the brain of a person with Alzheimer's begin several years before the patient shows symptoms of the disease. That means that by the time diagnosis happens, the brain may be essentially too damaged for potential treatments to work.

Doctors diagnosed John Baker, 71, of Watertown, S.D., with early-stage Alzheimer's disease in 2010. The former mechanical engineer said his family has watched him become forgetful, tell the same stories over and over and misplace things. He said he has no expectation that scientists will make a breakthrough soon enough to help him.

"Realistically, I'm not going to wait and worry and read every line on every report," he said.

Still, he's taking Aricept, a treatment for the disease made by Pfizer and Japanese company Esai Co. Ltd, to try to control the symptoms. He's also participating in a brain scan study to help doctors find a cure for future generations.

Lilly officials cautioned Friday that their study did not show that solanezumab slowed the progression of Alzheimer's. Even so, they were encouraged.

Solanezumab binds to beta-amyloid protein, which scientists believe is a key component to sticky plaque that basically gums up the brain of a patient with Alzheimer's disease. The drug is designed to bind to the protein and help the body remove it from the brain before it can form that plaque. Lilly said that while the individual trials missed their main goals, the combined results showed there may be some validity to this approach.

"We really think this idea of attacking amyloid plaques is a valid hypothesis, that's important news," said Dave Ricks, president of Lilly Bio-Medicines.

But Dr. Sam Gandy, head of Alzheimer's disease research at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, said Lilly's statement on the results "is very tentative."

"I believe in the notion that an amyloid-lowering agent like solanezumab will eventually work in early disease or pre-symptomatically, but whether these data provide compelling evidence that solanezumab has 'cleared the bar' just cannot be concluded" until full results are presented, Gandy wrote in an email.

Dr. Tim Anderson, an analyst who covers Lilly for Bernstein Research, said in a research note the solanezumab results would be viewed positively because expectations for the drug were low.

Lilly is counting on drugs in its development pipeline to help replace revenue it is losing due to patent expirations for key products. The company lost U.S. patent protection for its all-time best-selling drug, the antipsychotic Zyprexa, last year, and it will lose protection for its current top-seller, the antidepressant Cymbalta, next year. Those drugs totaled $8.78 billion in revenue last year, or 36 percent of the company's total.

Lilly shares climbed 3.4 percent, or $1.46, to $43.86 Friday, outpacing broader trading indexes that rose less than 1 percent.

Red Cross fears Sierra Leone cholera crisis, appeals for funds

FREETOWN (Reuters) - Sierra Leone's worst recorded outbreak of cholera risks sparking a wider health crisis unless its causes can be tackled more aggressively, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) said on Thursday.

The IFRC, which launched an emergency appeal for $1.14 million earlier this month, said the number of cholera cases was continuing to rise and that the number of fatal cases now topped 200.

The water-born bacteria is a regular blight in West Africa where toilet facilities are poor and whose urban slums face flooding every year with the rainy season. Neighbouring Guinea has also seen around 100 deaths so far this year.

Early rains together with increasing overcrowding in cities such as the Sierra Leonian capital Freetown have pushed the number of reported cases close to 12,000 this year, well past the previous record of 10,000 in 1994.

"The disease has the potential to cause a serious humanitarian crisis," Amanda McClelland, IFRC Emergency Health Coordinator, said in a statement. "It is an urgent to step up our efforts as the situation is deteriorating quickly ... We need more funds to deliver the most effective response".

Money spent on tackling the roots of the outbreak so far has been spent on health promotion activities and on helping affected families prepare oral rehydration solutions and build suitable toilets. But the IFRC said the level of aid coverage was still "very low".

It said 217 deaths and 11,992 cases had been reported across 10 districts of the country, half of them among the one- million-strong population of Freetown.

While cholera is generally not fatal, it can kill in just a few hours when diarrhea and vomiting cause dehydration, especially among the elderly. A cholera outbreak in Haiti that followed its 2010 earthquake killed more than 7,000 people.

The death toll in Sierra Leone is likely to rise further in coming weeks towards the late-September peak of the rainy season. The outbreak is accelerating in Guinea, where around 50 have died of cholera since the start of July.

"We are projecting more cases considering we have a month more of heavy rainfall," said Health Ministry Director of Communications Sidie Yahya Tunis, citing the expansion of the poor suburbs of Freetown as a factor in the disease's spread.

"It's not just that we have more people in the slums, we have more slum areas in the Western Area (around Freetown) as well," he told Reuters.

Biorefinery makes use of every bit of a soybean

ScienceDaily (Aug. 22, 2012) ? The corn industry produces almost 4,000 products from every bushel. Oil refineries produce fuels and ingredients for an estimated 6,000 products with a thoroughness that actually squeezes 44 gallons of products from every 42-gallon barrel of crude.

Scientists have just unveiled new technology intended to move soybeans, second only to corn as the top food crop in the U.S., along that same use-to-all path as a raw material for a wider portfolio of products. They described it ? a new integrated soybean biorefinery ? at the 244th National Meeting & Exposition of the American Chemical Society being held in Philadelphia this August.

"Mention soybeans to most people, and they immediately think of the oil," said Ramani Narayan, MSU University Distinguished Professor, who reported on the new biorefinery technology. "Soybean oil is the world's most widely used edible oil. It's in some margarines, shortenings, mayonnaise, salad dressings, frozen foods, baked goods and many other items. But soybeans are about more than oil. Soybeans are nuggets of green gold that can be a treasure trove of ingredients for other products, and our new biorefinery provides a glimpse of that potential."

The biorefinery is a relatively new concept, based on the approach used at oil refineries, which produce not just fuels from crude oil, but chemicals that become ingredients for thousands of other everyday products. Biorefineries use not oil as their raw material, but biomass ? plant material ? like corn and convert it into ethanol fuel, for instance, and a range of other products.

Narayan explained that soybeans pack much of corn's potential as a raw material, or "feedstock," for biorefineries. But soybean processing facilities traditionally have focused mainly on producing oil (which also has non-food uses in paints and inks, for instance) and soybean meal for livestock feed.

He described how the biorefinery can use well-established chemical processes to transform other components in soybeans into an array of valuable materials. Proteins in soybean meal, for instance, can be processed into ingredients used to make a variety of polyurethanes, including rigid foam insulation, flexible foams for packaging, as well as coatings, adhesives and elastomers. The soybean meal can further be processed to yield critical components used in polyester plastics for fabrics, ropes, car tires, plastic bottles and LCD screens; Nylon and Kevlar for bulletproof vests; and fire-resistant Nomex.

Likewise, triglycerides in soybean oil can be processed into ingredients used to make formaldehyde-free building insulation. The triglycerides can further be processed to manufacture adhesives, sealants, paints, plastic for toys and clothing using a process that does not require isocyanates. Both formaldehyde and isocyanates are potentially toxic materials, and better alternatives are preferred for these consumer goods. Soybean oil also can yield ingredients for coatings, used on electronic circuit boards, power lines and transformers. The soybean hulls can be chemically modified to make electro-rheological fluids which can be used for high-performance brakes and clutches.

"The biorefinery can utilize essentially every component of the soybean in the production of bio-based ingredients for high-value products," Narayan said. "It makes sense from a sustainability standpoint, in which we strive to reduce our dependence on petroleum as a feedstock. It also benefits the soybean farmers and raises the value of the local economy."

Facebook director sells 20 million shares after lock-up

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Facebook Inc director Peter Thiel sold roughly $400 million worth of shares in the Internet social networking company last week, cashing out most of his stake, according to a regulatory filing.

Thiel sold his shares on Thursday and Friday at average prices ranging between $19.27 and $20.69 per share after the end of the first lockup, which barred early investors and insiders from selling shares following the initial public offering.

The sales, in which Thiel sold roughly 20 million Facebook shares, were conducted as a result of a trading plan that Thiel entered into on May 18, according to the filing.

Thiel, who co-founded PayPal and was among Facebook's earliest backers, still owns roughly 5.6 million shares of Facebook. A spokesman for Thiel declined to comment on the sales.

Accel Partners, a Silicon Valley venture capital firm that was also an early backer of Facebook, distributed roughly 57.8 million Facebook shares to the limited partners and general partners of its various funds on Thursday, according to another filing. The move allows those partners to sell or hold on to their distributed Facebook shares as they see fit.

Facebook, founded by Mark Zuckerberg in his Harvard University dorm room, became the only U.S. company to debut with a market value of more than $100 billion. But investors have grown disillusioned with Facebook's inability to articulate a plan to reverse slowing revenue growth.

Shares of Facebook finished Monday's regular trading session at $20.01, down nearly 50 percent from their $38 offering price in May.

More than 1.4 billion additional shares held by early investors and Facebook employees are set to become available for trading by year's end, as additional post-IPO lockup restrictions are lifted.
